Shortcut keys for Windows users
Why there is a need of shortcut key?
1. It enhance the working speed.
2. It gives precision.
3. It provides multi-tasking to the user.
4. It gives efficiency.
Basic shortcut keys:
- Ctrl + A = Select all text
- Ctrl + B = Bold text
- Ctrl + C = Copy text
- Ctrl + E = Centre text
- Ctrl + I = Turn on Italic
- Ctrl + J = Justify
- Ctrl + L = Align text to left margin
- Ctrl + S = Save document
- Ctrl + V = Paste cut/copied text
- Ctrl + X = Cut text (Copied to clipboard)
- Ctrl + Y = Redo last action
- Ctrl + Z = Undo last action
- Ctrl + 1 = Single line spacing
- Ctrl + 2 = Double- line spacing
- Ctrl + 5 = 1.5 line spacing
- Shift + Home = Highlight from current position to start of line
- Shift + End = Highlight from current position to end of line.
- Ctrl + shift + Left/Right arrow = Select word to the left/ right
- Ctrl + shift + Down Arrow = Select paragraph from cursor to end
- Ctrl + F = Open navigation panel
- Ctrl + G = Open go to
- Ctrl + H = Open find and replace
- Ctrl + P = Open Print dialogue box
- Ctrl + Home = Go to top document
- Home = Go to beginning of line
- Ctrl + End = Go to bottom of document
- Ctrl + Shift + U = Paste as plane text (handy if you are pasting it from web)
- Alt + F + O = File > open
- Ctrl + Shift + E = Toggles trac changes on and off
- Ctrl + Alt + M = Insert Comment
- Ctrl + Alt + 1 = Apply heading
- Ctrl + Alt + 2 = Apply heading 2 style to current text
- Ctrl + Shift + A = Change text to upper case
- Ctrl + Shift + K = Change text to lower case
- Ctrl + Enter = Page Break
- F7 = Run spellcheck
- Shift + F7 = Opens thesaurus for the current work
- Windows + E = Opens file explorer
- Ctrl + Shift + Spacebar = Create non breaking space
- Window + X = 2nd start menu
- Window + W = Widget

- Window + N = Notification panel
