Shortcut keys for Windows users

Why there is a need of shortcut key?

1. It enhance the working speed.

2. It gives precision.

3. It provides multi-tasking to the user.

4. It gives efficiency.

Basic shortcut keys:

  1. Ctrl + A = Select all text
  2. Ctrl + B = Bold text
  3. Ctrl + C = Copy text
  4. Ctrl + E = Centre text
  5. Ctrl + I = Turn on Italic
  6. Ctrl + J = Justify
  7. Ctrl + L = Align text to left margin
  8. Ctrl + S = Save document
  9. Ctrl + V = Paste cut/copied text
  10. Ctrl + X = Cut text (Copied to clipboard)
  11. Ctrl + Y = Redo last action
  12. Ctrl + Z = Undo last action
  13. Ctrl + 1 = Single line spacing
  14. Ctrl + 2 = Double- line spacing
  15. Ctrl + 5 = 1.5 line spacing
  16. Shift + Home = Highlight from current position to start of line
  17. Shift + End = Highlight from current position to end of line.
  18. Ctrl + shift + Left/Right arrow = Select word to the left/ right
  19. Ctrl + shift + Down Arrow = Select paragraph from cursor to end
  20. Ctrl + F = Open navigation panel
  21. Ctrl + G = Open go to
  22. Ctrl + H = Open find and replace
  23. Ctrl + P = Open Print dialogue box
  24. Ctrl + Home = Go to top document
  25. Home = Go to beginning of line
  26. Ctrl + End = Go to bottom of document
  27. Ctrl + Shift + U = Paste as plane text (handy if you are pasting it from web)
  28. Alt + F + O = File > open
  29. Ctrl + Shift + E = Toggles trac changes on and off
  30. Ctrl + Alt + M = Insert Comment
  31. Ctrl + Alt + 1 = Apply heading
  32. Ctrl + Alt + 2 = Apply heading 2 style to current text
  33. Ctrl + Shift + A = Change text to upper case
  34. Ctrl + Shift + K = Change text to lower case
  35. Ctrl + Enter = Page Break
  36. F7 = Run spellcheck
  37. Shift + F7 = Opens thesaurus for the current work
  38. Windows + E = Opens file explorer
  39. Ctrl + Shift + Spacebar = Create non breaking space
  40. Window + X = 2nd start menu
  41. Window + W = Widget
  42. Window + C = Chat
  43. Window + N = Notification panel
  44. Window + A = Quick setting Wi-fi + Bluetooth
